Dutch electronic music pioneer Alex Cortiz, working at the time under the name Aad De Mooy, helped open new listening and creative perspectives in European electronic music during the early 1990s. This limited double-LP compilation, Selected Works from Between 1992 and 1995, revisits his key productions released on ESP Records between 1992 and 1995, spanning multiple aliases including Interface, Time Warp, and Paradise 3001, and fully capturing his distinctive approach to electronic music at the time. The collection features ten tracks ranging from acid breaks and downtempo to early tribal and progressive trance. Precision in sound design and arrangement is evident throughout, with a clear focus on dancefloor functionality, truly an “all killer, no filler” selection. Compiled by Castro and Nemo of Sound Metaphors and newly remastered for vinyl, this release stands as an essential document for understanding how ambient, techno, and trance converged in early-1990s Europe, and is a must-have for DJs and collectors.
